A few more photos from my first season on the cruise ship...
My favorite town in Alaska. It's a small town called Haines and it's home to the country's smallest commercial brewing company and a museum devoted entirely to hammers.
This is home.
With two great friends - "Pumpkin" and Nancy - on the last day of work my first season.
Sunset.

My summer in Alaska
Well, I started out my summer by returning from 4 months in Granada, Spain. I had a great deal of trouble finding a job where my family is now living in Indiana and eventually ended up getting hired by a cruise company to work in Alaska on a cruise ship. I started on August 10th in Ketchikan, Alaska and spent the next 6 weeks going back and forth between Ketchikan and Juneau. On the ship I serve three meals a day in the dining room and I clean about 8 state rooms each day. It's a lot of work, but I really enjoy my job.
The great thing about my job is that seeing wildlife and amazing sights - like glaciers calving - is a daily occurence. It's pretty amazing to float through fjords weekly, see orcas mating, visit glaciers every few days, and get to know some incredibly cute small towns.
As I will be posting a great deal about my job and whales when I get to Mexico for now I am just going to post a few photos things unique to Alaska (glaciers!!!!).
New Life, New Blog
So I am living a new life now, well for awhile now, but I am moving slow. Because of this my old blog - http://granadinaamericana.blogspot.com - isn't really in sync with my life so I have this new blog. You can still check out the old blog to see pictures of my time in Granada if you missed them before because I am not taking that blog down, just not adding to it anymore. Soon postings will start about my job working on a cruise ship including retroactive posts from this summer in Alaska and my off season travels to Cleveland, Granada, and New York. Check in again soon.
